FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Is airfare included?
We all lead super busy lives and reside in all diferent parts of world, therefore we leave flight booking in your hands to accomodate your desire to leave and possibly stay a bit longer to explore. However, airport transfers only include transporation to and from the resort on the designated start and completion date of the adventure.

An updated list of vaccinations required, highly recommended and suggested can be found on the Centers For Disease Control (CDC) website at https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/
  • Will I have down time to explore on my own or just chill?
Yes, you will have a 1-2 days to explore on your own, book additional excursions, or just chill and enjoy the resort accomodations. We try to keep a balance in activity by strategically providing rest and relaxation so you return home rejuvenated.
  • Am I required to attend all excursions?
Although we suggest you attend all excursions & adventures for the full experience, it is not required.
  • Should I exchange currency prior to arriving in the country?
We strongly suggest this! To avoid the frenzy of exchanging at the airport or finding an ATM as soon as you arrive, we suggest you have some foreign currency to suffice for a few days at least. Just one less thing to worry about on arrival in a foreign country:) To exchange currency, many of your national banks (Chase, Bank Of America, etc) will process currency exchange requests in 4-7 business days.
  • I'm not sure I want to fly alone. What should I do?
Although flights are your responsibility, you will have the opportunity to chat and meet other travelers on the same trip which you can coordinate similar flights with. In fact, we highly suggest this.
  • What can travel insurance cover? What coverage am I required to have for FIT(ish) Travel Adventures?
Travel insurance provides a safety net so you can step out with confidence should things go awry while abroad. Depending on the policy, travel insurance reimburses you or offers services when something goes unplanned: 1) You make nonrefundable reservations and then have to cancel or end a trip early because you get sick or there’s a death in the family. (HIGHLY SUGGESTED) All FIT(ish) Travel Adventures are non-reundable. 2) Your baggage is lost or stolen. 3) You miss a flight or have an emergency and need help finding a hotel, doctor or legal help. 4) You get sick while traveling and need medical care. (REQUIRED COVERAGE) 5) You have a medical emergency and need to be transported to the nearest hospital or back home. (REQUIRED COVERAGE) 6) There’s even coverage for the worst-case scenario: if you die in an accident while traveling. Accidental death coverage pays your beneficiary a lump sum in that case. (REQUIRED COVERAGE)
  • What should I know about the required medical travel insurance?
EMERGENCY MEDICAL ASSISTANCE, EVACUATION AND REPATRIATION This coverage pays medical expenses if you get sick or injured on a trip. Medical evacuation coverage pays for transporting you to the nearest hospital, and medical repatriation pays for flying you home. DETAILS TO KNOW Exclusions: The policy might not cover pre-existing conditions. Although most travel insurance plans cover many recreational activities, such as skiing and horseback riding, they often exclude adventure sports, such as skydiving or parasailing, or competition in organized sporting events. You may need to buy a special travel policy designed for adventure. Limits: The policy will pay expenses up to the given limit, such as $50,000. Deductible: This is how much you’ll pay out of pocket for medical expenses before the travel insurance plan pays out. The deductible can range from zero to more than $2,000. Check other coverage: Check with your health insurance plan about coverage away from home before you buy emergency medical assistance coverage. Call your plan’s customer service line and ask some “what if” questions. Medicare does not provide coverage outside the United States.
  • Do you recommend a specific travel insurance company?
We recommend using World Nomads as its easy to use, coverage is clearly conveyed, customer service is 24/7 and it's not a site just for quotes. Be aware of these, you will be spammed
